I hate to help the Dems, but I can tell them how to win when Hillary finishes her implosion.
Cutting to the chase, it’s by running Biden for President with Obama for VP.
Before you dismiss the idea out-of-hand, let me explain …
Strikes me that the most important thing to President Obama is preserving his legacy.
It’s fairly certain that a GOP president would gut ObamaCare, reverse the Iran “deal”, and eviscerate the EPA rules’ book.
So, President Obama will likely do anything he can to ensure a Dem president … and, he won’t be able to count on Hillary crossing the finish line in the lead – especially if she’s charged with a Petraeus-like felony.
So, what’s he to do?
Of course, he can’t run for President.
The 22nd Amendment says that:
“No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice, and no person who has held the office of President, or acted as President, for more than two years of a term to which some other person was elected President shall be elected to the office of President more than once.”
Hmmm … that eliminates Obama from making a 3rd run at the Presidency.
But, what about Vice President?
You know, pull a Putin trick and get elected to the 2nd highest office in the land … with a figure-head in the top spot.
Gotta admit, it’s an interesting possibility, right?
Let’s see, Article II of the Constitution just says that a President must be: born in the United States, at least 35 years of age and a resident of the U.S. for the preceding 14 years.
What’s the rub?
The 12th Amendment, ratified in 1804, says “no person constitutionally ineligible to the office of President shall be eligible to that of Vice-President of the United States.”
Tilt: if President Obama isn’t constitutionally eligible to run for President, then he isn’t eligible to run for vice president.
So, no Biden-Obama ticket, right?
Not so fast … there’s another option for making the ticket legit.
Yep, just slip the First Lady in as Biden’s running mate.
Reportedly, she toyed with the idea of running for the Senate from Illinois.
Why not skip that step and start at the V.P. position?
Sure, her credentials are light … but not that much lighter than her husband’s were 7 years ago.
The ticket would be unbeatable.
It would automatically deliver the limo-libs and the entire black vote.
A very nice running start.
Biden is on board with preserving Obama’s legacy … after all, his name is on it, too.
And, if he’d be easy to smack down if he tries to go rogue.
Biden has already said – if he runs – he’d only be interested in 1 term.
That would make Michelle– with 4 years of V.P. experience — the heir apparent for the top spot.
Win, win, win.
Remember where you heard it first
