Do you think that stress is bad for your health?

If “yes”, it can kill you.

Interesting TED talk ….

First, answer 2 quick questions.

  1. Did you experience a lot of stress last year
  2. Do you think stress is bad for for your health?

That’s a research test that was posed to a large sample of people.

The bad new: folks who reported a high level of stress were 43% more likely to die, but …

Only if they thought that stress was bad for their health.

Folks who reported a high level of stress but dismissed its harmful health effects had the lowest incidence.

The implication: thinking that stress is bad for you kills about 20,000 people each year.

That’s not stress doing the killing, it’s the thought that stress is unhealthy.

So, what to do?

Simple, make stress your friend.

Welcome it.

Channel it to rise to the situation that’s challenging you.

Stand up to stress.

You’ll live longer.
